I’m Iker DE LUISA, founder of Ferroalliance.

I have accumulated 11 years’ experience with the Mexican Association of Railway Companies (AMF), with many interactions with counterparts in the USA and Canada.

North America’s rail freight system is the largest and most competitive in the world. After 17 years working on railway projects, here are my skills:

  • Communication with shippers associations and suppliers
  • Regulatory analysis and coordination with government and legislative bodies.

Main achievements

Active participation for 11 years in the Board of Directors of the American Railroad Association (AAR) and quarterly presentation of the Mexican Railroad Report.

Public infrastructure project (Celaya rail bypass, 56km with 2 new marshalling yards, investment of 30 million euros).

Communication with government to improve externalities (theft, social blockades and access of unauthorized persons – migrants to marshalling yards and trains).

Reducing the negative impact of legislation on rail operators.

Participation with solutions for customs problems between the USA and Mexico (“eManifest VUCEM” and “Carta Porte” electronic transport forms).

Improve relations between shippers and rail freight operators.

Public relations between suppliers and rail operators.

Good relationship with the Mexican railway workers’ union.
